Kochi: Gastroenterologists and Gynaecologists from Kochi and other parts of Kerala converged at the G2G Interface Conclave that was held over the weekend at Holiday Inn, Kochi. The Conclave was organised by Aster Medcity, the leading quaternary care super-speciality medical centre in Kerala, to bring together gastroenterologists and gynecologists on a single platform.

Kochi:The Department of Neoantology ,Aster Medcity, held a Neonatology workshop on the latest aspects of Neonatal resuscitation. The course was conducted by faculties drawn from national and local level.55 paediatric doctors and nursing staff from hospitals in and around Cochin participated.The successful candidates were also presented with certificates.

April 5, 2017, Kochi: Aster Medcity organised PULSECON 2017, a CME workshop on Minimally Invasive Therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as enlarged prostate, over the weekend. The workshop conducted by specialists from Aster Urology updated and familiarised the attending Urologists on the latest developments in the field for minimally invasive management of BPH. The day long workshop was held at the Knowledge Hub in Aster Medcity.

Doctors at Aster Medcity in Kochi found a real life ‘Sleeping Beauty’ when a 4 year old girl was diagnosed with an ultra rare sleeping disorder known as Kleine-Levin syndrome.

Kochi : Aster Medcity, the advanced quaternary care healthcare facility recently hosted a specialized CME (Continuing Medical Education) session on ‘The Paediatric Foot’. The CME, which featured in-depth discussions on common foot conditions in children was organised by the Aster Centre of Excellence in Orthopaedics & Rheumatology. The full day CME which included a workshop took place at the Knowledge Hub in Aster Medcity with 75 medical professionals attending to update their knowledge about developments in the field of Paediatric Orthopaedics.

Kochi: The transplant team at Aster Medcity, Kochi created history by performing a simultaneous live-donor liver and kidney transplant on baby Parvathy – a 20-month old toddler who weighs just 7 kilograms. She has become the smallest child in the world to have successfully undergone this highly complex procedure.

Kochi: A unique get-together at Aster Medcity had children who had undergone a liver transplant in the last one year at Aster hospitals celebrating Christmas and the New Year along with their parents and hospital staff. The get-together was held at Aster Medcity on December 23, 2016 on the eve of Christmas and the New Year. This unique initiative was conceived and put together through the joint efforts of the Aster hospitals including Aster Medcity, Kochi and Aster CMI, Bengaluru supported by Mr. Pratik Agarwal, CEO, Sterlite Power.

Kochi: Aster Medcity has entered into a unique new partnership with the London, Edinburgh and Glasgow Colleges of Physicians, UK for offering Core Medical Training (CMT) in India. The partnership will enable training to be delivered to MBBS doctors to the same standard as in the UK, and participants in the program will undergo the same assessments and take the MRCP (UK) examinations. Aster Medcity will be only the second institution in the world after Iceland to deliver CMT outside the UK.
