Aster DM Healthcare Introduces Aster Easy Care Scheme In Association With Federal Bank

Kochi, 25 September 2018: Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., an internationally renowned integrated healthcare services provider, announced the launch of Aster Easy Care – an initiative designed to allow patients to access emergency and elective medical care without worrying about arranging for finances. Launched in association with Federal Bank, Aster Easy Care is applicable for medical bills ranging from Rs.25,000/- to Rs.5,00,000/-. There will be no down payment on the bill amount. The bills can be paid in interest-free* equated monthly instalments (EMI) of 6 or 12 months. Any native salaried person who is a close relative of the patient can avail the scheme. Bank will give priority to those who have CIBIL score of 700 plus.

This initiative will help patients who face an emergency situation or are not in a position to bear the cost upfront for an elective planned procedure. The benefit shall be available even for patients who are admitted and are in need of funds at the time of discharge. Patients without any or adequate health insurance cover will now not be left facing a sudden major expense, as with Aster Easy Care, they can pay through easy EMIs. This is applicable for both in-patients and outpatients.

Aster Easy Care will be available in all Aster hospitals across Kerala including Aster Medcity - Kochi, Aster MIMS - Kozhikode, Aster MIMS - Kottakkal and Aster Hospital – Wayanad, with over 2000 beds covering a large part of the state’s population.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman & Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare said, “Aster Easy Care is launched to make quality healthcare accessible to more people across Kerala. Today, families struggle to raise money for treatment – especially in medical emergencies. Sadly, health insurance is still not on the priority list of the average Keralite. Aster Easy Care will help even insured people who don’t have sufficient coverage. The interest charges by Federal Bank will be borne by Aster – this is our way of giving back to the society, especially at this point in time when people are grappling with losses caused by the floods.”

“The quality of treatment can make a huge difference to medical outcomes, especially in life-threatening emergencies like accident or stroke. Aster Easy Care will empower families to provide high quality medical care to their loved ones without worrying about treatment expenses at a time when they are already stressed. Aster Easy Care will also help patients who require elective procedures and surgeries, as they won’t need to delay treatment anymore to pay upfront. For us, Aster Easy Care is one more way of living up to our simple promise: We’ll Treat You Well”, said Dr. Harish Pillai, CEO, Aster Hospitals & Clinics, India.

Mr. Jose V Joseph, Executive Vice President & Kerala Network Head, Federal Bank said, “We have initiated an online processing and approval system for Aster Easy Care, which will ensure that a clear response is available in two to three hours. In an emergency, all Aster Hospitals will anyway do the needful without waiting for financial approvals and clearances. This is a great initiative that will really go a long way to help a much larger cross section of our society access quality healthcare.”
