Brain Dead Man At Aster Medcity Gives Life To Four

Kochi: November 14, 2015: Joseph Cherian, will continue to live in four others, long after his death. His vital organs will now give a new lease of life to patients in Calicut, Kottayam and Kochi.

Joseph, a 52 year old business man from Nedumkadam, Idukki, suffered from a case of Intra Cranial Hemorrhage and was first taken to the nearest hospital, but as his condition was critical, he was immediately shifted to Aster Medcity Cochin two days back. He was declared brain dead the same evening at 7.30 pm yesterday.

Aster Medcity Successfully Completed First Liver Transplant

Kochi : Aster Medcity successfully completed its first liver transplant on 47-year old Rajkumar Khurana, a trader from Punjab. A team of doctors from the Aster Integrated Liver Care worked tirelessly for 8 hours and completed the procedure. This is the first liver transplant at Aster Medcity, Cochin.

One Year Old Sri Lankan kid’s Face With Deformity Operated Sans Any Scars At Aster Medcity

Kochi, November 3, 2015:Venkeesh, a one year old child from Sri Lanka was born with a swelling on the right side of face. As numerous doctors whom the parents initially consulted gave varied opinions as to the reason for the swelling and on the required treatment, the swelling continued to grow. The child’s face became highly disproportional, with the cheek bone and lateral wall of the bony orbit (bony cavity where the eye is seated) expanding considerably because of the pressure due to the growing swelling.

Aster Medcity Provides Free Health Insurance to 2500 BPL Families in the Cheranalloor Panchayath

Aster Medcity in association with the Cheranalloor Panchayath will provide free health insurance to 2500 BPL families in the Panchayath. Around 10,000 people in the age group of 5 to 70 years will benefit from this project. What makes this initiative unique is that the insurance will cover pre-existing diseases, offer maternity benefits for one child and also offer concessions for outpatient consultations.

Cancer Early Detection Workshop at Aster Medcity

Aster Medcity hosted an early cancer detection camp on Sunday, 18th of October. Nearly 60 participants attended the workshop. Dr Vivek Radhakrishnan (Consultant – Medical Oncology), Dr Arun Warrier (Consultant – Medical Oncology), Dr Arunlal ( Consultant - Radiation Oncology ) and Dr Syam Vikram ( Surgical Oncology) addressed the participants and spoke on various types of cancer, symptoms and its treatment etc.
