Dr. Balram Rathish
Dr. Balram Rathish belonged to the first batch of Core Medical Trainees at Aster Medcity, Kochi and completed his core training with full MRCP (UK), an outcome 6 for his ARCP, and the academic excellence award in 2020. He obtained his GMC registration immediately after that and has currently been offered a post as Clinical Fellow in Complex Respiratory Infections at John Radcliffe, Oxford University Hospitals, Oxford, United Kingdom. During his core training, he conducted three quality improvement projects. He has completed numerous research projects with more than 20 published papers in peer reviewed medical journals, numerous international presentations, and was conferred various awards including the European society of clinical microbiology and Infectious Diseases’ ‘30 under 30’ young scientists in Infectious Diseases, and highly commended for the prestigious Das Pillay Antimicrobial stewardship memorial award by Public Health England. During his core training, he also co-authored a textbook in Internal Medicine and also contributed chapters to specialty textbooks along with the senior faculty. He plans to pursue his higher specialist training in Infectious Diseases from the United Kingdom.
